The 2000s were the golden age of live albums released in both CD and DVD formats. During that time, demand from production companies was very strong.
Live recordings then followed one after another, starting with a bonus live album for Calogero, in collaboration with Stéphane Plisson, then live recordings for Les Motivés, Zebda (with Madje Malki of Potard Hurlant), Manu Chao, Les Hurlements de Léo, Bernard Lavilliers, Arielle Dombasle and Indochine (with Philippe Dubich, aka Dub), with a special mention for Aldebert. Pako also co-produced several television concert recordings, notably for Lisa Nilsson and Randy Brecker. From rough-and-ready rock’n’roll gyms to Zénith arenas, clubs and all the way up to Bercy, he worked in a wide variety of acoustic environments.
It was an experience that was both physically demanding and technically rich, especially in terms of precision and sound capture. These recordings were particularly appreciated for the quality of the audience ambience: Pako developed specific microphone setups to reproduce the sound of the audience in 5.1.
